The Concept
I came up with the Year of Happy project last year. I was inspired by The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin and I wanted to spend each month of the year focusing on a different aspect of my life, making goals for that specific area of my life and reading books that aligned with the theme of the month. In January I set foundations, in February I focused on relationships, in March on finances, in April on home, in May on health, in June on attitude, in July on business, in August on school, in September personal development, in October creativity, in November spirituality and in December adventure. Now the categories/themes used were all determined by me and organized in a way that made sense for my life. Anything is possible, more categories exist and they can all be arranged to fit you life.
How You Can Do it
First grab a sheet of paper and divide it in 12. Each section will represent a month. You can then assign a specific theme or focus to each month. I provided examples of theme you can choose from with resources for each theme but you can also make up your own categories! Just do anything that makes sense for you own life. Now, you can come up with goals you want to achieve during the month, perhaps assigning your resolutions to each month rather than trying to implement them all at once. You can also come up with habits to form during the month, books to read, films to watch, videos to watch, etc.
